Just saw this article - this would be an "Otis" Basque sheep rancher in Idaho seeking an apprentice to teach for several years and then eventually sell business to.
I don't think there would be any gifting but he'd probably give very fair price. His two daughters help run it but neither is interested in taking over the business.
If any of you Boots or permies are interested or know someone who would be, please spread the word. Looks like he's looking for his person.
Thanks for that, M. James. Brought back some memories of living in Boise in the 1980s and gettng to know some residents there of Basque descent. Really hard to believe there would not be some person willing to jump at the opportunity, either within the local or European Basque community or outside of those roots.

I have a flock of Finnsheep and really enjoy having them as part of my lifestyle. I raise all my own meat, dairy products and wool. It is such a joy to make my own stuff and have sheep to maintain the vegetation around my farm.
