Erica : One question per post, and spread out the chances, Right? I may invoke the 24 hr rule on this one, why is it we can not find a table that will show us thermo-syphoning
(in a vented system of course!) of X1 amount of fluids, At X2 Temps, ( no heat loss or possible increase due to friction ) through Y diameter pipe (assume straight pipe), for z
distance .This could be handy as more and more of us try to shave weight off of our system and move heat to remote locations ! A. L. + M. L. say hello to the elderly naval
man !

You can do it from the "Chimney Effect" tables at engineeringtoolbox.com, too.
Natural Draft Ventilation Equations

You have to iterate the equations a bit, since the siphon has several channels doing different things up, down, and sideways. But it does seem to allow for pipe size and even lets you mess with friction.

Now I gotta check that boiler reference. Wish I wasn't so tired ... I'm curious if the equations are different for water vs. air. (they should be, to predict actual performance, but are they?)
