We're in the very early planning stages of a
permaculture community. My wife and I are saving money, and we currently live in the Chicago suburbs. Our likely target areas (MO or TN) have a number of on-paper benefits, such as low taxes, low property costs, no building codes, and a zone 6 climate (we're a little tired of Chicago winters.) Our short-term goals are to meet some folks in our current area who are like-minded and see if we'd click
enough to start a small community one day. We have a tiny bit of passive income from real estate to pay the taxes and handle food that we're unable to grow ourselves. We're newbies in the
