What is Whatsapp and why would I want that?

I tried to buy a product online and I could not complete because my Whatsapp number was wrong.  I don't have that so I put in 0 (zero).

It is a messaging app, owned by Facebook / Meta now. It is very popular in my country, and I use it every day.

Hi Anne,

I find myself making fewer and fewer online purchases due to the retailers making it more difficult to take my money. Even my cell phone seems to want pins I never created.  I do realize it (hopefully), is their was of protecting me.   More and more I am thinking that if I need that much protection maybe I had better stay off their site.

I left off the part about anti-spam. Whatsapp anti-spam number, I think.

I am calling them tomorrow and will ask about this.

It is a product that we have been buying on Amazon and eBay and it is the manufacture's website.  Seems strange that they want to limit sales like this.

As mentioned, a messaging app. We really liked it as far as group messages, international messages, sharing pics, etc. They changed their privacy policy a few years back and we exited it because of that and having a second messaging app was a pain no matter how nice it was.

Very strange that you need that to buy a product. Especially since you have purchased it before without it...
