When someone uploads an iPhone or android camera photo does Permies remove the metadata associated with it?

On this image, the site removed GPS coordinates, artist, camera settings, comments, etc....

It does explicitly remove GPS info.

Other meta info may or may not be removed based on a lot of things.

I take a screen grab of the photo to reduce the size before uploading. As a bonus, this removes all the metadata.

Oh, i like that idea!

Photos don't need a big file size for something like this and if someone has slow internet they might not be able to load the big image.  I never found such an easy way to reduce file size before.   Your idea is great.

I've mentioned it before, but it's worth repeating. It's so simple on a laptop -- screen grab, save to file, upload that. No need to tie up huge server space with a pic of a bumblebee on my pole beans.
