Joao,
So when this happens to you do you carefully remove the outer seeds first and then test a few every so often of the others to see if they have a kernel?
The first time this happened was a few years ago, and I filled a large bowl with several heads of seed and THEN noticed how many were empty....my very patient husband sorted for me.
Now I do as I mentioned above and even then have to go back over the good ones and find flat shells and some full sized shells but empty....my fingertips are sore🙄
I'm realizing this is something I never had happen until the last three years when I've been planting a GTS seed mix and some have beautiful super huge heads....my previous flowers/ seed heads were always small and mostly either oil seed small black ones or tigers eye...both smaller flowers.
Unless I can figure out a fix I probably shouldn't grow them since I'm mostly wanting seed to share and eat.
