Moved this spring to a new house and found two of these plants. The bees love it. It is always covered with honey bees, bumble bees and yellow jackets. The flowers barely even look like a flower. Like small pods that are half purplish flower. Any ideas?

Mostly luck and good search engine skills. I vaguely remembered seeing this plant, but all I could recall was that it was in some way connected to medicinal plantings and obviously the colors, so I put those into a search engine and began going through images until I hit on the familiar flower/leaf combo. Glad I could help though.

To anyone who is looking for a plant to feed the bees this is a good one. I have borage, hysops, bee balms etc but the bees by far prefer this plant, at least in my yard. It is not very pretty but figwort must be a bee food vending machine.
