A very interesting article and a design which uses 10% of wood than an ordinary 3 brick fire, Dave NE

David Creed : Wonderful Find !

It could be said that in one way the Good people at Aprovecho.org have only re-invented the Soyer Cook stove.

If you go to U-Tube and search for 'How to build an institutional rocket stove' you will see that a world wide effort to curb the use of 3 rock
fires has advanced the state of the art beyond that of the earlier Soyer stove - though I have never heard of a direct link comparing the two.

Again world wide this much cleaner burning Rocket stove has served to greatly reduce Blindness, and lung disease where they are being used !

This is where I put in my plea to take most everything with a ton of salt that you see on U-Tube! There are many simple, horizontally fed Rocket
( Cook ) Stoves made with no more than a #10 vegetables can and a couple of soup cans !

These simple modeLs are insulated with dirt or sand, and are much loved by Apocalypse Prepper/Zombie Hunters, Ice Fishermen and Boy Scouts !

Think like fire, Flo like Gas, Don't be the Marshmallow, Your comments /questions are solicited and Welcome ! Big AL
