At 39$ this is low watts and importantly low standby watts. 1.5w standing by!

i have had a couple versions of powerbright, 900w and 2300w 24v. They are reliable and clean enough. Keep the fans clear and maintained.

If you want something nice. This inverter is an all around lighting and sensitive electronics winner. Reliable, efficient, clean.

Morningstar charge controls have been stellar. Use the pwms with appropriate modules. Under a hundred dollars for 20 or more years of service. The mppts are pricey but good. More flexibility with module and battery voltage.

A midnite solar brat is a good hundred dollar pwm.

These are tanks. 120$ Not super adjustable but have wide pv voltage acceptance in a pwm controller that will switch between 12/24/48 volts battery systems. At 12v it will just take two 300w panels at higher voltage it does quite a few more.

For a single 12v sealed or pair of 6v golf car batteries it will have all the charging current a 250ah would want and then some.

Dc distribution and 5v charging.

The plate is just a plate but depicts multi 4.2a usb charger and cigarette lighter plug receptacle 12v power with battery volts all in a strip. The site is worth a look around.

A real pv module. Or two. Best 207 dollars you will ever spend on power for the small demand you are indicating would be one or two of these.

Have a good battery, sized overlarge by 1.5 to 2 times what the guideline is for your autonomy.
Doing this will alow the battery to age and still power your house for the design autonomy and for years longer most would experience.

If you have the budget, shoot for 10 percent or less discharge overnight or even 24 hours, depending on major household time of use patterns. Or multiply by days of use without sun and limit at 50% dod and go 1.5-2 times.

Now that is a stout battery for home power. Charging capacity should be your standing load plus as much gusto as the battery will reasonably allow.

Within 10 percent of battery max charge amps is a good place to be unless you have larger standing loads, then i use it all.

All systems are different and you may only require 1200 watt hours over a week, then this would be too much equipment.

Hard to beat a couple golf car batteries (or a sealed deep cycle 8d) and a 300w module or two, once you are at the trouble. Light always available, pressurized water if you like, communications uninterruptable with multi voltage operation from a power supply with 4 major components or less.

One thing about these..... if you have to try too hard its better to reserve the effort for another opportunity.

Nearly every time i force an issue or go all Captain Ahab on a desire it crashes on the rocks or is absorbed to no avail. It doesnt mean to not strive, as dissapointment dissappoints, but usually we find something better or more obtainable without the stress of risking everything and over exertion of the mind and resources.

If you were that close to getting it, it would likely be that close keeping it, now thats stress and possible hard dissapointment.

Banks will usually win out on these and i like a land contract..... at least a family or other real people benefit.

Best wishes on finding a suitable homestead!

If you are in a rural area near where you would like to live, get to know everybody. Be honestly open to people and let them know what you are trying to do. Somebodys uncle or grandma or other will have something available not obtainable in the usual manner or not obtainable to others (puplic) for the same cost. Grants of land or property are not uncommon, but you need to know known to everybody and be mutually useful to eachother for that type of exchange, usually.

Sage advice.

My problem with the last paragraph is that I have crippling social anxiety and my liver is fubar so I can't go out and drink alcohol to overcome that anxiety like I used to. Because of that anxiety I have close to no social life other than seeing people from my neighborhood or going to the grocery store.

I guess everyone has an angle. Fine, what do you want? Just know that you cannot have this tiny ad:
