Dam construction companies in Southern California

Hello everyone!

I have an 8 acre property in Southern California in the mountains, zip code 92397, and I want to build a damn on the lowest part of the property to catch all of the water flow before it drains under the road and off the property.
I thought about doing it myself but feel like such constructions should be taken seriously and I want to consider to have it done professionally, but I still can't find a company that would help me do it!

Does anyone have any suggestions or references to people/companies that could help me with this Dam project?

Also calling it a dam might get you in alot of trouble with permits. Maybe a ditch, or a driveway anything but stopping the flow of water on a massive scale with possible damage to people downhill.

Not to mention that in some parts of the West (not sure about California) the water rights are owned by somebody and you will not be allowed to "divert" or keep any of it without a permit...

Lets say we call it a pond ! Dig a hole in the ground and lay in a big pond liner. That is what I used while living in Southern California. You can use a small magnetic drive submersible pond pump to move the water back up the hill to water your garden etc. My pump was 500 gallons an hour and worked pretty good.

California desperately needs to re-hydrate the earthbody, not more false water management. A liner does not help re-hydrate the landscape, it only worsens the problem keeping the water separate from the land in an artificial structure. It may look prettier than a tank but a liner pond provides very little ecological benefit to the watershed.
