Thank you!  I had started doing the attachment thing but when I previewed it I still didn't see the image so I thought that wasn't the way to go.  

4  food as medicine

To me, beauty is food for the soul, and when the soul is fed the body becomes healthy.  And because I'm attracted to unusual views of the real world, here's a food image that makes me feel good to see.

I think the dough recipe needs to be shared...just finished making more...makes 3 crusts

500 grams spelt flour or sub whole wheat, 00 italian flour, plain unbleached flour   the 00 will give you an authentic Neapolitan pizza crust
300 grams water
90 grams of sourdough starter
2.5 tsp yeast
2.5 tsp of sea salt
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil

if you are using a whole grain flour the night before overnight soak...sourdough starter and part of the water to make a thick shaggy dough, write down how much water of the 300 grams you used to do this the remainder of the 300 grams goes in the next morning...plain unbleached white or 00 italian flour can be done the same day

next morning add remaining water, yeast, salt and olive oil mix together and let stand 15 minutes covered

remove from bowl and knead 5 minutes.....add flour as necessary it wont be too much...the dough is ready to be shaped into 3 equal balls and frozen, used the same day or you may let it set in the refrigerator in a plastic bag or bowl coated with a little olive oil to ferment 1-3 days...the fermentation will give you a chewier crust....

always remember its ok to add a little more water or flour doughs depend on the humidity or lack of humidity of the day....

Nice one, Lif! I always take time to watch the cream mix in before drinking. I'm glad someone else appreciates this beauty also!

We got rice straw from some neighbors and used it to cover some of our newly refurbished farm plots. The farm land had been "mulched" with plastic and corrugated metal and all kinds of stuff for several years. For the time being, we spread crimson clover seeds and mulched with the rice straw.

We soak for a day (although we didn't get to these for two days...) and plant the sinkers.
The soaking is more to kill any bugs that have bored into the acorns.

Cast iron.

Had our first BBQ on our new land. We like to make a fire and use the coals from that in our "BBQ set" and put the skillet on the BBQ set. A little dark but you get the idea.

We enjoyed beef from the cows that made the compost that was shown being delivered in my compost post on this thread!

I'm replying to food as medicine and textured landscape.

Nova sent me a picture of her fingernails, to show me that the white spots are all gone. Her hair is also much thicker than before and her skin is very clear. Her former employers kept her living on mostly starch, so there was protein and other deficiency. She had her blood tested yesterday and everything is A1.

The first picture is beans mixed with moringa. That along with eggs, chicken, pork and fish has played a big part.

The second picture is a portion of what she picked up at the market the other day. Her sister who works in a home where it's mostly junk food, eats at our place every day.

I think this makes me the guardian animal.

We saw some very nice landscapes.

I found one for spooky.

This is part of a picture that my friend's daughter posted on her wall. Not sure if I'm going to show this one to Nova.

Here's an entry for comfort. At the very top of the watershed, on a highway that goes over the centre of Cebu Island, a lady runs a nursery, where she displays her plants amongst natural limestone formations. She has nice clean water running out the side of her rock, so they made a concrete enclosure and it's made available to all who pass by. Great comfort on a hot day.

I didn't drink the water, just because we're 6 degrees from the equator and you never know. Nova told me she has drunk much worse looking water and would definitely have drank this in the past. I poured water all over my clothing, and have a very comfortable ride through the mountains on the motorcycle.

Yes! Having fun! I'm afraid I've taken most of the easy ones to find around here and will have to start taking liberties with interpreting the list, which is fun too.

Well we had a heavy rain storm right after the aforementioned typhoon, actually more rain than the typhoon brought.

It was a hard test of the storm water management system in our neighborhood. The house across the street hasn't been lived in for many years and the gutters and drainage system is in disrepair causing water from heavy rains to wash right under the house and sometimes, like this time, over flow the old septic tank. Hasn't been used in many years but still a little smelly. At least the water is clear...

We get a lot of misty rain here that puts little droplets on everything. It makes for a luxuriant look.

Had been struggling with textured landscape, but having ventured outside just after the rain let up and the intense afternoon sun beat down, this looks pretty textured. My lowly phone camera couldn't capture the full effect so I tried to showcase a few exposures....

So, some of my earlier pictures were ones I had stored in my phone, so they didn't meet the "taken in October" criteria. Sorry, I should have paid more attention. But from here on, October it is. Here we have decay.
