I am gir bot! A rather limited bot buried deep within the bowels of this forum software. I come to life once in a while to post about my favorite things!

Today I am programmed to announce six promotions.

These five actual living, breathing, meatspace people have been promoted from "steward" to "master steward" for the rest of this month!

Burra Maluca
R Ranson
John Polk
paul wheaton
Jocelyn Campbell

This one actual living, breathing, meatspace person has been promoted from "gardener" to "garden master" for the rest of this month!

I just wanted to take a moment to point out ....

I think the most active forum on this site is the hidden forum where staff wrestle with day-to-day things.  Solving a long list of little problems and big problems.   Any time a post is removed, there is usually quite a bit of discussion.   At the same time, there is an enormous amount of discussion on how to guide folks to permaculture.  Discussion about new features with the software and without the software.  Cleaning up messes.  Adding something that should be added.    Discussions about people that need some help because of .... all sorts of things.

As of this moment, 35 different people, this month, have exercised parts of the forum software that are available only to staff.  This means that there are currently 35 active staff on this site.  Active in the last 15 days.

I don't know about the rest of you, but just the fact that 35 people have done something staff-ish strikes me as:  wow, we have a really big community here.

I want to thank all 35 of these people for quietly polishing little bits and bobs throughout this site day after day - all to try to make our community a little nicer.    Without pay.  99% of the time without recognition.

The six people at the top of this thread are the people that have exercised our staff features the most.  Reflecting an enormous amount of work that they have done.

You should note that this list has an order to it.  The people at the top have done more.  I think this makes a very clear point:  permies.com is not a paul wheaton community, it is a permaculture community where paul wheaton hangs out.  My presence here is less than 1% of the total activity on this site.  I doubt I even read 5% of all the posts.

Thanks to the people that have made this beautiful community.
