This podcast details Paul's original design for what is hands-down the most fascinating structure at Wheaton Labs - the Wofati. Here, you'll learn about why this design is superior to those using cob and straw, why the roofs work so well to keep moisture out, and how adaptable the design is. Wofatis are hardly 'underground houses', but let a surprising amount of natural light in, regulate temperature beautifully without AC or heat, and can be made from the materials on your property.
Looking for leads on building wofati-ish on bedrock/boulder slopes and lots of trees. Emphasis on the freaky cheap (probably no dynamite involved). Cold climate, southwest-ish slope, steep (50-1000% grade I'd guess, but a few flat spots, wooded). Thanks!
