Peter and Matt

Brian Kopp, mentioned in an email that Peter and Matt were using the "Vacuum formed ceramic fiber risers" he found.
However, without more info I am not sure which Peter and Matt he is referring to.

I would like to know if anyone using these could give feedback.

The risers have an ID of 6 inches and OD of 8 inches, but do you still need to insulate around the outside of the riser?

Are the insulation properties sufficient to get the high temperature burn within the riser without additional insulation?

Brian referred to Matt Walker and me, I am using a ceramic fiber riser in my heater. There's no need to insulate these risers around the outside, the insulating property is sufficient as it is. My heater is in its second season now, running admirably.
