I have a number of bats in my eaves and attic. They have been there for about three years. Last year we resided our house and it was quite a mess. I would like that move them to a bat house but have no idea how. Has anyone had experience with this?
The info from Tylers link is pretty much what I was going to say.
Set up bat houses in the bat's flight path ahead of time, then quickly add barrier/deterrents to where the bats normally roost while they are out flying about.
"Where will you drive your own picket stake? Where will you choose to make your stand? Give me a threshold, a specific point at which you will finally stop running, at which you will finally fight back." (Derrick Jensen)
A big thing to take note of is that you're not going to be able to keep the bats out unless you do a very good job sealing your home. The openings the can travel through are so small, it's almost as difficult as getting perfect insulation on a home.
