Is it ok to have a distance of just 2 inches/5 cm from the riser to the interior side of the bell in a batch box. heater?I am not talking about the top of the bell which should have a distance of 30 cm from the top of the riser.

As long as there is plenty of free airspace elsewhere, I don't think a 2" gap on one side would be a problem.
