Hardy Kiwi

Is anyone growing Kiwi in a climate similar to Missouri? How is it working out?

Can they be grown from seeds and where do I buy some?

Regular big/fuzzy kiwi will not tolerate a temp below 0F (zone 7)
Hardy kiwi and Artic kiwi which are non-fuzzy and small (grape-size) will however survive colder temperature.

Hardy Kiwi = -20F
Artic Kiwi = -40F

You will also need 1 male vine for every 7 females vine. So you can plant from seed but I am not too sure what the ratio of male to female will be  

I’ve got two hardy kiwi ordered from Edible Landscaping and 9 seedlings half an inch tall. How fast do the seedlings grow? Will they be too small to plant outside late this spring?
