This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Dimensional Lumber Woodworking.

We've done some basic carpentry so far and now it's time to bump it up a notch.  Books laying in stacks on the floor?  Let's build a proper bookcase!

Here's a gentleman showing us one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a bookcase
  - Solid wood is preferred but plywood is allowed for this BB
  - At least two adjustable shelves
  - Some trim and/or nice details
  - Homemade natural finish

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The lumber you're going to use for this project
  - Midway through the construction process
  - Applying the natural finish
  - Completed bookcase

if you think brussel sprouts are yummy, you should try any other food. And this tiny ad:
