This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Dimensional Lumber Woodworking.

Making a couple gallons of wine is easy enough but how do you store a hundred gallons?  Let's make a barrel that doesn't leak!

Here's a gentleman showing us one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a wooden barrel with staves
  - No glue
  - Metal hoops
  - Visibly watertight
  - At least 10 gallons in size

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The lumber you're going to use for this project
  - Midway through the construction process
  - Finished barrel

Also provide video of the following (<2 min):
  - Either filling the barrel with liquid and showing how it doesn't leak over a 20 minute time lapse (sped up)
  - Or putting a bright light inside the barrel in a dark room and show no gaps around barrel
