Greetings! I just became a member and am very excited to be part of this community!

my background is landscape architecture and I got bit by the PC bug at a PA mother earth news fair.

I am starting a PC nonprofit in WV and am looking for fellow permies in this state.  So far my research has yet to reveal an organized network of PC enthusiasts / hobbyists / professionals.

As this nonprofit will take a collective impact approach, it is crucial to connect with as many as possible.

If you're living in West Virginia, please let me know who / where you are.  You will not be committed or obligated to anything - at this point I'm trying to get a realistic snapshot of our WV community.

Of course, if you'd like to be involved that would be PermaAwesome!

Thank you in advance!

Hello Lisa.

I'm Justyn, a few years back I started a NonProfit Sustainable Education Lab in SWV. #TheMavisInstitute

I teach classes in Bluefield/Princeton about Permaculture and such. I would love to connect and share stories.

I do quite a bit of work with churches in Mcdowell ( The free state of Mcdowell parts ) I also work with the State Parks to improve their pit toilet issues. ( We build and teach folks about GSAP VMP or GSAP MicroFlush technology. " Zero Waste Byproduct and 2 cup of water usage" It's third world tech we adapted for the rural parts of Appalachia.

If you use social media @xdrfirefly on just about everything.   Or the Institute website is

Thanks Justyn for checking in!  Your organization sounds fantastic, and I'm really excited to connect with someone who teaches.  This first year for us will be about building a statewide network with very near future goals of providing PC design courses.  I hope that is something you would be interested in or at the least provide guidance.  I will reach out to you through your fb/website so we can further discuss PC in our wonderful state!

Hi Lisa,

I've got a partially wilded town lot in Parkersburg.  However, my plans are to move to Kentucky within the next couple of years where I have family and a few acres.  That's where I spend my free time.

But put me into your loop.  If you're local enough we could perhaps meet.

Ruth

I have some land in eastern West Virginia. Did your nonprofit get going?

He loves you so much! And I'm baking the cake! I'm going to put this tiny ad in the cake:
