Looking for a couple or single wishing to homestead, short or longterm.
I have an older established 4acre homestead in the Northeast Georgia woods.
At the moment a little over half of the land is pasture for my small herd of milk goats, but all manner of things have previously been raised on this little hilly patch of dirt.
A half acre garden spot. Lots of shade and trees for forest garden spots all over property. There are several young fruit trees.
I live in the small house and although i don't mind sharing my home comforts, i do value some solitude. So i would prefer that you bring or create your own nest on the property somewhere and i don't mind helping you do that.
You would either need to build an earth friendly home, bring a small camper, camp out or help convert one of the unused buildings to a tiny home.
I have a well for water and grid power, but have lived without in past and live a somewhat off grid lifestyle. I dislike overly supporting utility companies.
It would be better if you had transport, as i live about 12miles from a small town.
You would need to be able to support yourself or be prepared to work at least part time in outside world. I have no work demands, occasional help with hard chores or teaming up on mutually agreed beneficial projects.
I would require some type of personal references and a crimefree background except of course silly mistakes in past. No unnatural addictions or heavy alcohol use, please. I get my highs from living simply and close to nature.
This is not a free ride situation. I would expect a very small contribution towards the property expenses bills etc. Or meals if it was decided to meal share. I am not a vegan and do eat some meat.
I have unused pens etc, so you could raise some of your own critters if desired.
I am willing to teach and/or learn from you also if need be.
I am a herbalist, so could share or exchange knowlege of medicinals.
I have lived a homesteading life on and off since childhood and am now in my 50s.
