We are two families sharing land, food, orchard, trampolines, impromptu foraging parties, big garden,  livingroom  games and chickens. We are located in Southwest Washington, between Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens. We have some geese and turkeys and would like to try having some other animals on the land. We are interested in beekeeping, compassionate hunting and fishing. We are experimenting with permaculture, natural building, a bit of world travel arts and crafts, music, joyful yoga, wilderness expeditions, and other things. Mostly we want to have fun and do good! We have a huge, funky 100 year old log cabin where people can stay while they build a tiny house, treehouse or Hobbit home in the side of the hill! We are working on getting many building projects going. We want to build a greenhouse, wood heated sauna and hot tub, barn for barn dances, outdoor kitchen and pizza oven! We need more people to help us build and enjoy! We have  connected with a network of homesteaders and others  and wish to grow the greater community as well, so we could talk about being a landing spot for people who want to buy their own land in this neck of the woods! Hi Laura, people probably want to know where you are, though they can look up that you're in WA state from the phone number.

Hope you get some good contacts.

Dope!   Thanks for the tip on location! I just copy pasted our ad off the ic website, forgetting that the location is in a different place on that website!

I live really close to this farm and know the people there. Some of them are new friends, but they’re all really, really great people. Laura has been a kind and generous friend. If you wind up there I’ll be around to get to know/support you. Like Laura said, you’re welcome to come out and look for land while you stay with her.

We’ve got a really strong (and growing) community of open minded, kind hearted permies out here and we’re doing more and more all the time as a community. We’d love to teach you how to farm out here, connect you with local resources, and save you all the hassle of learning everything from scratch (like we did). There’s tons of potential out here. We’re even starting regular food/permies related programming at the United Methodist Church in Morton.

Really cool ideas! I'm also making my way to this part of the world in September, with the hope of acquiring my own land for veg/fruit agriculture and lodging. I'm also hoping to partner with neighboring farms to learn and for bartering goods and services. Let's stay in touch!
