So, on my new property the raised bed garden is on the south side of the lower house which is covered in white aluminum siding. My understanding from the seller is that excessive heat is a major issue. They had tried shading the house with some cloth, but this is not feasible for me, as it requires multiple people on 20+ foot extension ladders. Obviously, I don't want to paint the house a dark color, because that would heat the house excessively. I'm thinking some fast growing annuals that can reduce the reflection before the really hot season begins. It would need to be trellised at least a foot from the house. I don't want any aggressive vines that will grow under the siding. Does this sound viable or am I missing something?
