Hi Andrew. This is your first post, do you have references of other farms you've worked on? Do you know much about
permaculture or just looking to learn. How long would you like to stay on at a place? Do you have funds to
feed yourself? Do you have any medical conditions?
We're starting over again on 30 acres and implementing
permaculture elements. We are not a farm like you would think of as far as acres and acres of cleared
land, big equipment and selling wholesale or to the permies. We're just trying to build a self-sufficient homestead,
sell some at the farmer's market and eventually have
medicinal herb and
permaculture classes out here. We have 5 small no-till garden plots setup already and working on a food forest. The bottom land is 75% wildflowers with food gardens nestled in. We do not have farm animals except for a couple of
chickens. We have a very small mini-camper, just big
enough to stetch out. There is no heat, no power, no running
water. There is year round running water from a spring that we use about 500 feet away and in the winter it has to be hauled by hand. We were thinking of putting in a small heater in the mini camp and we do have oil lamps. Is this too rustic for your taste?

I don't care about getting paid, I'm just looking to learn some new skills.
I have a strong athletic background and have been interested in the outdoors for a long time. I've been studying primitive survival skills in my spare time over the past few years and enjoy going hiking and camping. I have no problem with intense physical labor and getting dirty in the process.
I am located in the NE United States but I am willing to re-locate. I have nothing in my life keeping me tied to my current location, I can literally pack up the essentials in my car and leave right now.
It is my dream to someday live a self-sustaining lifestyle and to do so there are skills I will need to learn, that I'm hoping I can develop by working on a farm.
If you could contact me with some basic details we can see where it goes. thank you!
