Our field was just combined and of course it has missed the corners so there's a fair amount of rye left standing and I was thinking of going out and grabbing it, but what would I do with it afterwards? My rye bread comes out like a brick and I have no way to grind it so looking for ideas for whole rye grains or possibly milled as I could put it through the animal feed mill we have out in the barn, but cleaning that thing would be a nightmare so whole or possibly chopped rye would be preferred. I'm probably going to have to hurry on collecting it, he's not baled the straw yet but ploughing and reseeding is probably not long away!
If you can mill the rye. Then make pizza. Here is my pizza recipe using rye: 1 cup each of AP Flour, Rye, Whole Wheat and 1 cup of water with about 1 tbsp of yeast, 3 tbsp of oil (I like olive oil) and 1 tbsp of sugar. Also what recipe did you use to make the bread?
