Fall sugar snap planting?

Has anyone experience growing sugar snap peas this time of year
were currently in a drought here, has not rained in more than a month, but rain is forecast for monday and i was thinking of planting a crop of peas

I've sowed peas for a fall crop with success. I currently have various peas both bush and vine variety out in my garden that I sowed in August. I've also had no rain in six weeks, aside from a light shower a few weeks ago which seemed to wet the trees and grasses and I'm not sure if it made it to the soil, so I've been watering my peas 2-3x a week.

Where about are you located?

I've planted peas at this time of year also. Sometimes I've pre-germinated them, other times not. Success has been totally dependent on the type of winter we get which can be quite varied.

That said, I have always figured that since I'm using saved seed, if I don't get any peas but I've added some roots and nitrogen to the soil, and protected that soil during our wet winters, that's enough to make it worth the time doing it. In fact, it's on my list for today!
