Homeschoolers: do you use Khan Academy?

Just curious, seems like it would be invaluable for teaching, then tracking and grading your kids' progress.
Or yours. Yeah, I've taken a few of these classes.

It doesn't matter if you are a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, or a friendly alien just trying to get a leg up in earthly biology. The Khan Academy's materials and resources are available to you completely free of charge.

I love the Khan academy, but discovered it a bit too late.

We found it useful when we suddenly needed to study fluid dynamics as neither of us had a clue and the videos explained things really well, especially how the math fitted in with the theory and how the equations were derived and could be manipulated. I spent a while watching more basic videos and doing some of the exercises, just to see how the system worked, and was very impressed. I'd strongly urge any homeschoolers to spend a while on the site and see what it has to offer.

Salman Khan is doing for education what Paul is for permaculture and I have the highest respect for both of them.

I use Khan. Have a lot of videos downloaded to my laptop. Have watched most of the finance ones.

Thanks P, what a great resource! I've noted it for my guys (though they're currently in London spending hours in the dinosaur exhibitions in the National Museum).

Glad to help. It looks like the best use of Khan for schools is to switch homework with classwork. That is: the kids go home and watch the lecture, learn the theory, then come into the school and are presented with the problems/application to work on. Then the teacher can help them if they have a question. More 1:1 time. TED has Khan speaking on it. He explained the genesis, current applications, and pros/cons versus existing models.

Looks like a very useful site. I'm certain I will take some courses.
