"its so easy a monkey could do it" and similiar sayings are a typical jest and this is nothing more than typical criticism of political figures and the cartoons that they spawn. as long as people keep trying to draw parallels between statements/cartoons/gestures and race then racism will appear to exist. in other words if people look for racist connotations they can always find it and it is not evidence of the existence of real racists undertones. racism is no longer about how others see people but about how people think others see them. and they just won't let go of the idea that they are putting those labels on themselves now. just my two pennies.
