I was thinking about this too. I can't
compost humanure now but I have dogs and I bury their poop separately, digging hole in the ground. I cover it with
cardboard once in a while and spread some
ash over if it gets smelly. Sometimes I also add regular compost stuff there which is more troublesome in the bin, like rotten fruit. When it's nearly full I cover it with soil and dig a new hole. I put the compost bin on top of the old hole sometimes, and seems like there's more earthworms in the "dog poop level" than above.
I was thinking of getting another dog which would be useful for a number of reasons, but the poop thing is discouraging... I guess it would be good to also have animals which make useful manure, which could be added to the dog poop. Maybe small birds or
rabbits (or is there something especially good for that?).
