I am very confused. What is your server, what does it do, and why can it not recognize independentjo.com? I am looking at thegeekgroup.org. It looks like they already have a nice site. What problems are they having?

Most of the confusion is caused by the fact that you are dealing w/ a Senior Citizen w/ a T.ramatic B.rain I.njury !

I get an error message what says addressee on " To : ' line not recognized ,(!)

I often have problems getting other sites to take my ( www.allum@tbs .net ) as valid ! I made an ass out of myself by saying it was a server problem !

I enjoyed listening to your podcast with Paul Wheaton. I do have a WordPress question.

On my website about natural growing etc. I post 'photos and would like to post two photos side by side without the text floating up between them, which happens when I align one photo left and the other is aligned right. Since the left or right aligning apparently allows the floating, I tried not aligning them but could not get them to sit side by side, one was on top of the other. I tried adding the <p> format before and after the two photos but WordPress removed that. The problem with adding hard returns to get the text to move down is that with different browsers the result can appear different. The simplest is to just insert a large photo and align it centrally but I would like to use smaller photos. Do you have a suggestion?

Hello Richard,

I have two suggestions. Both of them involve installing Plugins for WordPress. I am not sure if you are using the WordPress software which allows this or if you are using the WordPress.com site which does not.

1. Install a plugin called NEXTgen Gallery. This will give you a VERY large variety of options for placing images inside of posts including what you are looking for. It does however take some getting used to. You will have to study this one.

or

2. Install a plugin called TinyMCE Advanced. What this plugin does is extends you options in the post/page editor so that you can do many more things with your post without having to know the HTML behind them. One of the options with TinyMCE Advanced is to create tables. From what you described I think this solution would be the easiest and least intrusive. Think of these tables as simply implementing a Excel spreadsheet into your post or page. You then place your images directly into the cells where you want them to show up.


I hope this helps. If these dont do what you are looking for let me know and I will take a deeper look into your site and what you are trying to do. I have put links to each of these plugins.
