The first thing that popped into my head was to use them for spacing stacked drying screens, for dehydrating herbs and such, or for the artists, stacking racks for drying paintings. By that same idea, they'd work well for keeping lightweight objects off the ground, to paint, too - like painting terra cotta pots, picture frames, children's furniture, etc...
