Welcome to the new Productive Downtime forum! This is a place to talk about things you can do when you can't do what you want to. Winter, illness, social changes, anything that changes what you can do.

We will be adding threads to this forum, so if you see one that would go well in here, if you are able to add threads to other forums, you can add them to this one too! If not sure, please report it and say something like "add to productive downtime" so the wonderful volunteer staff can add it.

Let's come up with good positive ideas for what you can do when things change!

I declare this forum open, and welcome you all!!
Pearl

Watch a movie about permaculture! (free stream in March 2020, at least)

Try some recipes from a long time ago! (they may make you thankful for what you've got, or you may learn something new)

Check out this huge list of permaculture-related activities!

My life hasn't changed.  I still work at home.  It's funny I purposely started avoiding permies because I was spending so much time on here.  I get distracted by something shiny and don't get work done.  :-)

Wait, I'm on here, right now, writing about something shiny. haha haha

Just joined this site after lurking for way too long. Today i'm going to my local co-op to buy some seeds and planter boxes. The shop allows customers to call and place an order & pay and the employee will bring it to your car. Great for social distancing AND I can purchase things for my "victory garden" without going to a huge store with tons of people. My attic is getting warm during this spring season so I'm using it as a place to sprout seeds in paper towels. Finally having time to work in my garden and make adjustments has been very fulfilling. My dog is stoked about me being home all the time too!

since my last post, i have learned so much about gardening!!! i since raised several beautiful pepper plants and very prolific tomato plants that made it until the very last cold snap. i had tomatoes and jalapenos from may til september living their best life! haha
this upcoming year i want to focus on row planting rather than container gardening. and also focusing on fertilization
