I want to start a batch of
sourdough starter, but my mother lives with us and was recently prescribed an inhaled antibiotic. She breathes it in through a nebulizer twice a day for 28 days on, then 28 days off, repeating for several rounds. I read recently that if someone in a household is taking an antibiotic then everyone in the house is getting it as well. (!!!) I suspect this is even more true with a vapor based drug.
My question is, will this affect a sourdough culture? Will the starter consume the antibiotic or grow it? I've made sourdough in the past and love the process. I really don't want to table this
project but I'm unsure whether or not to move forward.
