Hi,
I am new here and in the mists of all the uncertainty that is happening we are moving up our timeline. For years we have been searching within our communities for others that believe that homesteading and being self-sufficient is how to survive during rough times. We are so disappointed with not being able to find people like us that feel this way in our everyday lives. Well times are changing quicker than we had planned for and we are in need of those like minded people to join us on our journey.
Some basic info is we are older and hopefully wiser and we own 100 + acres in the Ozarks of Missouri and are looking for others who wish to live off-the-grid and homestead. A few musts are you must be non-smokers and non-drinkers, bible believers who trust in Jesus as their Savior and must be willing to work hard and play nice with others.
I know this is not going to be easy and maybe this might even be the worse idea but I have to try. Please be praying about these things and asking where would the Lord have you to go.

Hi Donna,

Welcome to Permies!  I am afraid that I am firmly planted in my 9 acres in Southern Illinois, so not terribly far from you what with you living in the Missouri Ozarks.  I live at the northern edge of the Illinois Ozarks and I have always appreciated their beauty.

Good Luck with your 100+ acres in some beautiful country.

Eric

i wouldnt write this site off as im sure there are religious types on here as well, but based on the majority of posts i see this is more of a 'new age' type crowd, more hippyish if thats a word. i would recommend maybe a homesteading forum as you might get more hits.

And just to make myself clear to mods or those who might get offended from either camp, i dont think theres anything wrong with religious type homesteaders or hippy type permaculture people, and im sure theres tons of people in between (like myself)

Donna,

My family and myself have similar beliefs. What kind of community do you have in mind and what do you envision for this community? And are their others already involved? And what do you want prospective people to bring to the community? If you want to talk or answer these questions off forum, feel free to email me at boodan38@yahoo.com.  Thanks!

Hi Donna!  If a Christ-minded community is what you seek...consider including that in your title.

I assure you there are people out there who are interested and may be a good fit.

Have you considered posting some photos and creating a form for people to fill out utilizing somethign such as Google Forms?

This could allow you to easily filter out and communicate with potential people for your space.

Good luck and be sure to keep us posted on our journey!
