My chicks are 2 weeks old and doing great so far as I can tell. Well... one of them is "quacking" sort of. Aside from the noises she seems fine. She forages, runs around, eats, drinks... and apparently "quacks". She makes the noise along with a head twitch similar to a Tourret's syndrome type thing. Kind of a cross between a quack a bark and a sneeze. The bird has no discharge of any sort and shows no other signs of illness. I've heard that some Easter Eggers make strange noises from other people on other forums. Does anyone here have any input?

I think that sometimes it just takes a while for them to figure out how to talk. The first rooster crows are also pretty pathetic sounding.

If you name your chickens, I guess she becomes "Daisey".

As a matter of fact I've been calling that one "Chuckles". It makes me laugh.
