Presumptious term: "your pet"

Why do so many articles I read about rabbit seem to presume your rabbits are pets? Don't those authors know a lot of us like to eat rabbit meat?

I know there is at least one rabbit forum that will ban you just for talking about breeding, forget about harvesting rabbits! I try to get my info wherever I can and avoid the drama, got enough of that in my own life.

I suppose pet owners are their target audience.

Do a Google search for "rabbit farming" and the articles you get will be just the opposite.
