Well, I don't have a good recipe but I'll tell you what, I love my cast iron skillets & would love to win yours.
Now, that might sound just a big greedy, but let me finish!
When I win, I would give yours to my daughter, Mary. She is 31 and has 4 kids and cooks on aluminum, or *gasp*, non-stick coated pans!
My poor, poor little grandbabies are being served meals cooked in these deplorable pans. I've offered to give her my skillets but she won't hear of taking mine from me. They come with fond memories of Nana (me) cooking large breakfasts for the whole family at my house and of cooking over an open fire when we're camping.
Yes, we all go camping together once a year. It's quite an experience with all of us (except my nature-impaired hubby) in attendance: me, both of my daughters, all 5 grandkids and at least one of our dogs, if not more. I have been camping with the grandkids since the oldest, now 12.75 years old, was 2 years old. I taught him how to start a campfire (my daughter wasn't exactly happy about that-probably why she goes with us now) and pitch a tent.
Why don't I buy her some skillets of her own, you ask? Well, we all know how store bought cast iron is AND (here comes the "pity" aspect to clinch the win!) my husband hasn't worked in 22 months and we're a bit short of cash.
All of what I have said is true, but I would really like to win just so I can see the look on her face when she hears that I won the skillet & am giving it to her!
Thanks!
Happy Earth Day.
