Hi,

i could not find any information regarding the juglone tolerance of trees from the sorbus genus.

Has somebody information share?

I know black walnut, and pecans have juglone

Not at home now but juglone affects nightshade family  (tomato, peppers, etc), corn, sunflower not affected.

i don’t know about the sorbus genus specifically, but have seen other members of the Rosaceae family suffer badly with proximity to black walnuts. Aronia in particular doesn’t seem to have much tolerance at all.

But many Prunus (namely Cherry, Nectarine, Plum, Peach) and quince which are also Rosaceae are juglone tolerant.

So sorbus might or might not be tolerant. Could not find any information for one or the other hypothesis.
