Is this normal? My duckling is always sitting on its mum back up near her head... it’s been doing it for for about a week it’s only about 8 days old so yes it’s been doing it since it hatched....  here’s a picture of what’s it’s doing... it’s very funny but strange as I always thought mumma was spose to sit on duckling to keep it warm....

Yup, it's normal, and adorable! If the duckling gets cold, it will hp down, and snuggle up, underneath. Hens & chicks do it, too. :D

I find this much more common with singletons than if you have a clutch with lots of brothers and sisters, but I've also seen it and it certainly isn't a sign of a problem.  Mom and duckling both look happy and healthy!

Thanks jay... just wondering too due to the fact that I do only have a single duckling besides venting is there another way to tell if it’s male or female every thing I’ve found on the internet is for when you have more than one...

Please don't try to vent you duckling as there's just too much danger of damage.

Yes - it's easier if there's more than one, but certainly not fool-proof! If you post a few more pictures, particularly one from above straight down on duckling that would help, but the trouble is that there's enough variation between individuals that if I've got a group of 10 or so ducklings there will be three we say "girls" and 3 we say "boys" and that leaves 4 in the middle that we scratch our heads over even after the 4 week point when it's supposed to be determined, and I've had Muscovy for years! So even if you post more pictures, I'd take our opinion with a grain of salt.

Here are photos of baby 10 days old... I’m thinking it may be a girl due to shape of bill and head... what do you think?

There's definitely a 50/50 chance it's a girl!
I usually go by the shape of the body, but I really think you'll have to be patient for another 4-6 weeks.

Why does your bag say "bombs"? The reason I ask is that my bag says "tiny ads" and it has stuff like this:
