Another of my weird dreams. When sending email, instead of just being able to attach files or images, we could attach small items.

All of us permies were sharing seeds, roots, plant cuttings and we could even send baby chicks! Baby ducks and geese were right on the edge of the file size or whatever the limiting factor was for attaching. Small ones could be sent, but not bigger ones.

I had seeds I was sharing, a plant that grew like bulb fennel, but was a beet, with the sections like the fennel, but the leaves, flavor and color of beets.

Wouldn't that be neat?!

:D

Maybe you're dreaming about the future?
I do hope so. I'd love to swap a lot of seeds for some ducklings, for instance

Pneumatic tube system of Manhattan

Another cool technology that worked and then went by the wayside. Yes, only relevant for urban densities, but that's how over half the people in the world live.

Not sure I'd subject baby birds to a ride in one of those, mind you....
