I just can't believe it! I cannot find a single reference to Bush Tucker Man in the entire, colossal permies forum!

This sort of thing just won't do.

The original documentary:

And now the original series appears to be accessible (stolen?) on GooTube as well. Well worth your time, people. I tried to get this series on DVD, way back in the dreamtime, when it was impossible to get a compatible player in N. America.
Edit: here's the link I found:

The skinny: Les Hiddins, Australian curly-haired Major, Ethno-Botanist in the Outback gathering aboriginal knowledge of bush foods, accidental star of a series called Bush Tucker Man, and possessor of a completely awesome hat. Also better at bush survival than I will ever be, and I'll get him for it. :-)

P.S., THAT HAT IS KILLER AWESOME! I WANT THAT HAT!

remember him well ,seen all the episodes on tv and the repeats a few years later , his style was easy going , and the series for me was a top up on the australian adventure thing i got hooked on after following the films of Alby Mangles.
