To be sanitary, and to make people want to use such a system, It should require zero, that is zilch, that is absolutely no handling of raw humanure. Preferably, there would be no maintenance of any kind. Can anyone tell me how wheaton labs handles this? Can anyone explain at all how this is handled? What are the advantages over a composting toilet?
The garbage cans are pulled out and set aside for two years.

So,
the answer is that at Wheaton labs, they do handle raw sewage, and then let it age for a couple years. To me, that’s unacceptable. While I was searching for an answer, I found this:

I like this solution a lot better. Basically, you transform the sewage directly into willow coppice/pollard (fuel, fodder, basketry, wattle and daub) and comfrey (biomass, biomass, fertilizer,
mulch, fodder, biomass, bee fodder/attractor) without a bad smell, or view, or having to handle it at all. That’s the claim. If it works, it’s probably my choice.
