There are lots of ways to finish your woven piece.  Hemstitch, tassels, ...

What about weaving the weft-tail back?

I just learned about this technique for weaving in the weft tail.  I always start my weaving by weaving in the starting tail for a few rows.  Here is how to finish weaving by weaving in the tail too.

You place short, folded pieces of scrap yarn (same diameter) into the weaving with the loop on the same side as your weft entered the warp.  I know the video shows the folded end on the same side as the weft exited the warp but then you have a weft float so I recommend putting the fold/loop on the same side as the weft enters the warp.  Repeat for several rows.  Weave one more row then start pulling the warp tail through the woven band using the scrap yarn.

here are a few photos of me doing just that and it worked great.

Please share here if you have tried this finishing technique!  Please share other ways to finish your weaving, too.

This is more or less how I hem stitch.

When I have to hem stitch.  I'll do almost anything to avoid hem stitching and favour a sewing edge on my sewing machine or to tie the fringe.
