Greetings! My partner and I live on one acre in Upstate NY. We are a small off-grid homestead with cats and chickens. We are hoping to add goats (a dairy goat and a wether fiber goat) in the future. We are a queer female couple. My partner, M, is a seamstress by trade, and a Jill-of-All-Trades in practice. She has skills in carpentry, natural building, handywoman work (basic plumbing, basic electrical), home dec, costume making, crocheting, re-purposing and upcycling, small appliance repair, etc. She is the more exuberant of the two of us, and she offers nurturing and honest communication. I am a writer and a thinker, neurodiverse, an introvert who is interested in permaculture, coding, literature, and living in concert with the Earth. We are building 4 4x4 hugelkulture beds in soil bags for planting, as well as a ground garden bed for corns, beans and squash. We plan to grow winecap mushrooms beneath our squash plants. M attended Pacific University and Grossmont College, majoring in Leadership for Sustainable Communities at Pacific, and I had a short stint at Empire State College here in Upstate NY. I am Korean, M is Scottish. We are looking for friends and potentially, someone to help us with projects while living on the land. We have a 28 foot RV that isn't currently occupied, and, once tidied and hooked up to solar (we have panels), could be lived in. We are both nerds who love to sing and play. We spent a lot of time on our computers this past winter, along with hauling wood and tending to the critters, and it'd be good to get into the sunshine with likeminded folks and light a fire in the fire circle. We are open-minded, tolerant, kind, and compassionate people. We seek the same. We are spiritual rather than religious and we don't drink or use any drugs. I vape. Our lives have taken us in diverse directions and we find safety and home in one another and in relationship with Nature. We have both walked complicated paths and it's helped us to appreciate weirdness and differences in people. Don't be afraid, shoot me a purple moosage or reply to this post if you'd like to talk. COVID hasn't affected us all that much as we're both somewhat hermit-y, and ushering in new perspectives and thoughts will bring an influx of light into our springtime revelries! Be well!
