Kid's woodworking workbench

My three going on for year old son likes to spend time with me when I'm woodworking. Of course I can't actually get anything done when he comes, but he does learn a lot. So I decided to get him some appropriate gear.

I slapped this together with recycled and leftover wood and woodscrews. The top is hardwood, but the under structure is mostly cedar. I had an old piece of plywood the perfect size that served as a bottom shelf and extra stabilization. It's being weighed down with a cut off of a steel beam. I had an extra little 60 mm vice too, so I clamped that on.

I hope to help him build a tool box to sit in the shelf in the next few months.

That bench look way better that anything you could buy. It looks sturdy enough to become an heirloom... Your grandkids might be standing at that bench some day. And that is a pretty awesome thought.
