Can Ducks Get Stung?

Is it possible that a duck can get stung on the foot by a bee? I ask because last week one of our female ducks was limping for a day and today one of the males is suddenly limping. They forage a lot where there's a strong clover patch that our bees forage too, quite a lot of bees! Could they have trodden on one and got stung?

I would think that a determined bee could probably sting a duck foot. would probably take a bit more effort than stinging a soft human, but I would bet that it could happen.

Yeah they can get stung in their feet and caruncle, both take a fair bit to get the stinger in and out so limping for a few days would be natural. If I was getting stepped on our pecked at, I can't see a reason why not to go suicide stinger.

I've no idea if it's related, but today our place was riddled with flying ants, ie the new queens emerging out of the ground after the first major rain after the summer. There were loads of them in a place we walk a lot but the ducks rarely visit, so my other half caught one of the young muscovies and put her down near a particularly heavily populated area. Apparently she loved eating them, but was dancing around as the ants crawled all over her feet. Not sure if they were biting her or just ticking her, but it seems a coincidence that this should happen so soon after your ducks going lame.
