How do you make comfrey tea?

Put some chopped up comfrey pants in water and wait, right? But how much per gallon of water and steep for how long? Sorry I keep searching and I find is, "dillute 10-1" with no mention of the brew strength.

I am excited to experience how awful the smell will be. I have a really strong gag reflex! Hahahaha

the only comfrey ‘tea’ i’ve made was 100% chopped comfrey in a bucket, no water. it basically all melts down into a liquid. fill the bucket with comfrey, end up with...a quarter of a bucket or so? of concentrated good stuff. that, i might dilute 10 to 1.

and i’ve smelled lots of worse things!

Greg, how long did it take to create your tea?

Dan, I just fill the bucket with Comfrey, and cover it with water. No measurements at that time. When it's fragrant I mix it 10/1.

Very cool, thanks. I guess it really is that simple, hahaha. I thought I was missing something.

Greg, I am curious also about how long the pure comfrey takes to break down. I have plenty of it so I may just make it both ways to see the difference. I grew some last year and it only got about 10 inches high. This year it's HUGE already!

i dunno, probably at least a month, maybe two. it was a short enough time that from a big cutting early in the season, there was still a lot of growing season left to use it after it had ‘matured’.
