That is the one I am asking about.  Do you have any experience with it or the company?

Hi John;
I can't answer any of your questions.
I do think these are very cool and have great potential.
The 10 year battery pac concerns me.
We have electric cars now with similar (same?) battery life potential.
Thing is, anymore cars are not expected to last 10 years...
I would hope and expect a tractor to last 30+ years....
So my concern, is these are not cheap. With the needed upgrades you have  an easy $50,000 + wrapped up in one.

How exclusive is the battery pac?   Only be able to use just their battery?
Cost now and every ten years could become frightening...

I still think these are cool , just not sure I want one.

Hi Thomas,

I am not in immediate need for a new tractor. I have a JD2210 that is approaching 20 years old. ...and it has very low hours on it. So, I am not sure if there will be a need. I am one of those people who shops long and hard before making a major purchase.  At 71, the 10 year life expectancy of the batteries doesn’t concern me.  I see the relative lack of maintenance to be a positive.  There is a low run time on the batteries of 3 hours of heavy use, but I am working in 2 hour periods with breaks in between. So, I don’t see that as a major problem.

I see the buy in at around 30,000 with the front end loader.  But that is still high. It comes with a 2 year warranty that I see as useless.  I am sure there are no dealers within hundreds of miles of me.

The problem I do have is that I sent them an email 2 days ago, and they haven’t replied.  If they have problems communicating when there might be a sale, how will things be if there is a problem?

Hi John,

Did they ever end up responding to you?
I called their sales line a couple of weeks ago and spoke to someone who said they have a backhoe attachment about to be released but when I've called back over the last week to follow up I've left voicemails and had no response yet.

Are there any current Solectrac electric tractor owners on here who are willing to share feedback with me either in this thread or privately on what the purchase and service experience has been like, and whether they're satisfied with the machine?
