I wonder if this technique would work for other fruit than grapes. The article mentions that the variety of grape matters and that they use a late ripening one.
This is definitely something that's been on my mind recently. I don't have a cold cellar and the weather's been weird, but I have an
apple tree that is just finishing that has awesome apples and I wish I could keep them longer without a lot of technology or power.
Similarly, as they were predicting rain (which actually came - yippee!) so I had my son pick *all* the prune plums out of fear they would split if it rained much. My kitchen floor is covered in buckets of them, and they're not *that* different from grapes!
It would take advance planning, as clearly the "clay bowls" have to be made and dried in advance - too late to solve my current problem!
