This year the poultry have kept the vines trimmed to about 3 feet off the ground; this helps prevent those pests that climb from the ground that would damage the plants. They have also kept a steady supply of fertilizer going to the area and.....I'm sure they will be on hand for any that I drop to the ground.
They have not been watered at all this year and the first couple that I tasted were very sweet - even the skins were sweet!
I'm liking this permaculture thing - less work and better tasting fruit.
